Heather Hamilton, founder of Zoe Organics, started her quest with Organics and as a healer after she experienced a beautiful pregnancy and became a humbled mum. Her good fortune opened her eyes and heart to the problems awaiting many other expecting women around the world. With worldwide mortality rates of infants and mothers rising due to poor sanitary conditions, lack of proper facilities and education, Hamilton felt compelled to become a healing part of the birthing process. After her own pregnancy Hamilton become a Doula. Doula comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides non-medical support to women and their families during labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period. After becoming a doula, Hamilton took her mission even further by developing Zoe Organics, a pure, therapeutic, eco-conscious product line that supports and nurtures expecting mothers and their babies.

Part of the beauty of Zoe Organics is Hamilton’s obvious charitable nature. Zoe Organics is in partnership with The White Ribbon Alliance (a grassroots movement that builds alliances, strengthens capacity, influences policies, harnesses resources and inspires action to save the lives of women and newborns around the world.) And a donation pledge is made with every product Zoe Organics product sold. Zoe Organics is also dedicated to education. Many of the links offered on the site bring information and awareness to the public about the many life threatening concerns surrounding pregnancy and motherhood in third world countries and locally in the US.

Finally, Hamilton’s benevolence extends to preserving the health of families and the planet by offering organic and delicious ingredients in her non-toxic brand of products. The list of botanicals is carefully selected for their healing and therapeutic properties– from Chamomile, Lavender and Mandarin essential oils, Rosehip seed oil, Vanilla bean, and nourishing Shea butter and Almond oil, just to name a few.

I was privileged to sample some of Zoe Organic products, and used some with my friend’s baby, dear three month old Bernardo (photo above). Bernardo didn’t seem to notice the difference, on the other hand his mum did, she was extremely happy with the performance results and with making Bernardo even more delectable to squeeze.
